These are the matters that go around in my head
For reasons beyond me, I started thinking about Marvel 1602 and how writers of the time would start shifting their works around what the hell is happening. Because of the people that I bother talk to bother talk to, it went the way of Iron Man.
(Note: I haven’t read Fantastick Four or New World, so this is mainly me checking Wikipedia and talking out of my ass.)
This is my way of saying that 1602’s version of Don Quixote is some sort of veiled biography of Don Antonio Eduardo Whatever the Hell His Last Names Are Lord Iron (Don Hierro? Don Acero? It might also be Señor Hierro or Señor Acero, but that just sounds… off.), as done by Cervantes.
I say this mainly because of the tie of “he read way too damn much for his own good, and now he’s thundering around the country side (Okay, pun not intended, but I’ll use it) and meddling in things he shouldn’t really be getting into.” I guess this makes Rhodes Sancho Panza, at least in the aspect of Sancho being the straight man/pragmatist. (And this would be where things can get problematic, because I don’t want to see Rhodes as just a black side kick, and if the writer isn’t careful, this is what would happen. I want to see Rhodes as Tony’s anchor and peer. […that’s also a pun, isn’t it?])
I would give anything to have someone do Lord Iron’s life as a send up to the picaresque novel, but a lot worse. Because it’s real.

Hrm. I used to be a lot more about the Cloud/Tifa relationship than I am now. Granted, this was in high school and I was still figuring shit out. So, when I started getting into slash, I wasn’t as hardcore about it. Now, I ship Cloud/whoever the author writes as well enough to accept and work with his psychological issues.
Y - A fandom you’re in but have no ships from
Let’s see… in Valkyria Chronicles, I’m more interested in the world and the wars. Welkin and Alicia are adorable, but I’m not all OTP OTP OTP about them.
The Hunger Games, because I didn’t see either choice for Katniss as appealing. Also, I wanted the world building more.
I wonder if The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making even counts cause I, like, did one thing for it and it’s still in the rough stages. But whatever. In this, like in The Hunger Games, I was more Main Character/Her awesomeness than I was Main Character/Who the author is implying she’ll end up with.
It’s like, for some fandoms, I just take the canon pairings with a shrug (or face palming) and then go about to other things that I want to see more. Like the world building. Did I mention I like world building?
